By letters of 8 and 21 December 1998 you have expressed a wish to know my position as regards a letter of 7 December 1998 that you have received from Mr Gary Sutherland, Deputy to the Head of the Administrative and Financial Department, concerning your services during the preparation of the meetings of 13 November 1998 in Paris and 24 November 1998 in Moscow.

I have already told you that you would soon be the addressee of a letter from your Head of Department, Mr Guy Jannot, which will follow-up on the meetings you have had with him regarding your situation and your manner of serving at the beginning of July and the end of November.

Furthermore, as you know, the habitual and official procedure of evaluating staff members will take place during January 1999.

So, it is after having received a copy of the letter of your Head of Department and within the framework of the normal evaluation procedure that I shall express my position.
